As I shared with many of you at the recent Business Expo in Jackson, MS, the business world is rapidly changing to a results oriented environment. More and more people are being compensated based on what they can produce for their companies. This trend will continue for the next several years.
To keep up with the curve and surpass it, you need to develop a productivity mindset and the best tool to use is a PRODUCTIVITY LIST.
My productivity list is separated into two categories. The top part of the list includes all of your DIRECT RESULTS TASKS. These are all of your daily work duties that will help you get directly to the finish line...and by finish line I mean to the end of the project and praise from your boss! Organize these DIRECT RESULTS tasks together. By doing this, you have created a specific focus on your end results.
On the bottom of the list are your INDIRECT RESULTS TASKS. These are the other productive things you must do in your day such as take the kids to soccer practice, go to the grocery, etc. Although important, these tasks don't directly support your workplace results. Do these duties as breaktime from your DIRECT RESULTS TASKS. Give this process 30 Days as a trial run. You will see your productivity in the workplace skyrocket. Before long, you will have worked your way to a nice raise! Keep up the good work and good luck!
Feel free to download this Productivity List and pass it on to your friends as well.
